Amanda, 13, loves belly dancing. She practices with her mother at Euphoric dance studio, and loves performing her routines. As city dwellers in Toronto, they love eating at different ethnic restaurants, especially Moroccan ones, and love watching belly-dancing performances. Amanda will be switching with Jennifer, 14, who is a curling fanatic from Stouffville, ON. Jennifer curls with her friends at the Bayview Country Club. She is on a bantam team with 3 of her friends and her coach has big plans for her future. Jen lives in a small town and loves cooking for her family.

The Swap: Jennifer will learn the art of expressing herself through belly dancing and fluid movement, the use of scarves and cymbals as an artistic tool. Saturday night, she will eat Moroccan food for the first time and watch a live performance by belly dancers. On Sunday she will teach a group to belly dance at a community centre at the end of her swap. Amanda will live as a sporty curling fanatic - she will eat with (and cook for) Jennifer’s family and learn the sport of curling - she will try all positions, and learn what it is to master one of Canada's favorite sports.

SWAPPER JOURNAL- AMANDA

From Amanda’s Mom, Trudy – "Amanda and I wanted to take this time to thank you for the great fun we shared with you and your crew. Your team was fantastic to work with. Rui, Jason, Dave and Ursula would certainly be individuals with whom we would like to work with again in the future. Amanda was absolutely elated and had a great experience."

SWAPPER JOURNAL- JENNIFER

"The coolest thing about the swap was getting to meet Amanda at the end of the swap and see the person whose life I was living for the weekend. I will remember everything about it. The new food, the dancing and the new friends I met. Thank you. I had a great time and they made the experience fun."
